| Description: | 16th Annual Kauai Coconut Festival Saturday, October 6th, 2012 - 9 AM to 5 PM Sunday, October 7th, 2012 - 10 AM to 4 PM Kapaa Beach Park (next to the Library) Are you ready to immerse yourself in all things coconut? There is something for everyone at this year's festival: entertainment, cultural displays and experiences, shopping, history, games, cooking demonstrations, contests and food...did we mention the FOOD??? This annual festival is presented by, The Kapa'a Business Association (KBA). It is the associations most visible event, and at the heart of our mission: to promote, preserve and enhance the quality of life and business along the Royal Coconut Coast. We hope that you will take away a new respect for our most revered fruit, a greater understanding of this special area, and happy memories of a fun day. The festival offers non-stop entertainment on a main stage, keiki (childrens) stage, cooking demonstrations by Kauai's best chefs, the largest gathering of Kauai artisans (featuring certified Kauai Made Vendors), crafters and Polynesian products of any festival, kooky coconut games, pie eating contests, local folks competing to win a coconut cook-off contest, hands-on activities, an area dedicated to teaching the uses and by-products of this unusual seed, cultural and historical presentations, hands-on activities, and everything you can imagine to eat made with...Coconut! | ||
